Thomas Storck has worked in three different sales lines of METRO GROUP, by starting his career as Business Analyst for Sales and Buying at Real. He then became Head of the business unit responsible for the implementation of category management. After that, Thomas spent two years working in Silicon Valley as CFO of GNX (GlobalNetXchange). He returned to Germany to take over the position as Administration and Finance Director of METRO Cash & Carry Germany. After that, he held the position as Chief Innovation Officer at METRO AG. From 2008 to 2012 Thomas Storck was responsible for Controlling, Accounting, IT and Logistics in the Management Board of Galeria Kaufhof GmbH, and in 2012, he took over the responsibility for Procurement, Category Management, Multichannel, Sustainability and Sportarena GmbH. In October 2014, he was appointed Chief Solution Officer at METRO Cash & Carry, leading the digital transformation of the business and acting as the company’s Chief Information Officer. Since April 2016 he is holding his current position as Chairman of the Management Board of METRO Cash & Carry Germany. Thomas holds a Business Management Diploma from Saarland University and a Master’s degree in Management Science from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, Dublin. Thomas is married and has three children. His hobbies are reading good books as well as going to the theatre. Furthermore he likes sailing, playing the piano, running, biking and snowboarding. Thomas is also passionate about viticulture and sustainability.
